WELCOME TO OUR EIGHTH ANNUAL CROP HUNGER WALK
We will be walking on April 24 to help fund programs of CWS Global and two local hunger agencies, Neighbor to Neighbor of Greenwich and Carver Center of Port Chester. The pictures you see are from last year’s walk, where 180 community members walked the two mile course.
This year our walk will be different. Teams of 4 – 6 individuals from participating groups and churches will convene at local running tracks to carry water (at least four gallons) a distance of at least one and a half miles. We’re choosing to carry water to symbolically recognize and support the thousands and thousands of people, mostly women and girls, who must fetch water for their every day needs. We choose to carry water but they must! Each team should bring containers that hold a total of at least four gallons water.
Your visit to this website demonstrates your interest in making a donation to a team or individual, and to get to know who we are and why we walk. You are invited to join us! Enlist family members, friends or members of your organization to form teams of their own, and join in the fund raising.
Register your team by contacting one of the two co-coordinators of the walk: Ned MacDowell from All Souls Presbyterian Church of Port Chester at firstname.lastname@example.org or Bob Willett from The Second Congregational Church of Greenwich at email@example.com . If you don’t plan to enter a team, please follow the prompts on this page to make a donation to help fight global hunger and poverty.
