First Presbyterian Church of Arlington, VA and Congregation Etz Hayim are working together to fight hunger and homelessness in Arlington and around the world. It's been a hard year to say the least, and more families have started to worry about their rent and grocery money.
Although the Arlington Crop Walk event is scheduled for Saturday, October 17th, it has gone virtual this year, with teams walking where and when makes sense for their members. Our team will walk on Sunday, October 18th to benefit the CROP Hunger Walk, the Arlington Food Assistance Center, and Arlington Thrive. We can take action for someone experiencing hunger and worry about eviction.
This event will benefit hunger relief through Crop Walk, 75% of which goes internationally and 25% of which will go to the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC). Donations on this website go to Crop Walk. At the event, Thrive staff will have a presentation board on specific needs in Arlington County, and people can "stuff a box" for Thrive that day.
You can help by walking with us, by donating here, and by coming together to learn more about the needs of Thrive clients on the afternoon of Sunday, October 18th. We will meet in the parking lot of FPCA and walk while observing distancing requirements. Thrive staff will also be there to collect donations. The steps we take - and the funds we raise - will make a real impact!
