2017 Crop Walk To Fight Hunger.

Juliana Estrella

The Charlotte CROP Hunger Walk takes place each Fall as a part of a nationwide endeavor to raise money to alleviate hunger and poverty in this country and overseas.

This is the largest CROP Hunger Walk in the country in both the amount of funds raised and the number of walkers who participate. The Walk is 4.1 miles starting at Independence Park. The length represents the average distance people in third world countries must walk to obtain clean water. The Walk is an opportunity for Charlotte residents of all ages, faiths and circumstances to join together to raise funds for our neighbors in need, both across the globe and in our own backyard.

The Walk supports Church World Service and three local agencies: Crisis Assistance Ministry, Loaves and Fishes and Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina

Our teams goal is to raise $10,000. If you can't donate please share or consider joining us the festivities in the park or the walk. Pets are also welcome this year.

Come early to Walk Day Village to learn more about what your money is supporting and help pack 1200 backpacks Second Harvest Food Bank to ensure children have food over the weekend. There will be entertainment, food trucks, henna tattoos, a Water Can Challenge, face painting and more.
