We're fighting hunger together!

South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church Walkers

Welcome to the SMPC CROP Walkers page.

On Saturday, October 13th, come join SMPC members and thousands of people from the Charlotte area for the 40th Annual Charlotte CROP Hunger Walk. This is SMPC's 10th consecutive year of helping stomp out hunger in Charlotte.

The walk is a 7k (4.1 mile) trek that takes you through the streets of uptown Charlotte.  This is a great way to enjoy a fall afternoon and make a difference in our community as we walk to raise money and awareness in the fight against hunger both globally and locally. We'll be meeting at the corner of Travis Avenue and 5th Street (Novant Health gravel lot) at approximately 8;30am.

Last year, the Charlotte CROP Walk raised $264,270 which exceeded its goal of $250,000.  This year, local hunger agencies are even more in need of our support.

We encourage families to walk together, as this is a great way to raise awareness about hunger among our youngest members. For those in our 8th Grade Confirmation Class, please consider walking with your Mentor.

If you are unable to walk, please consider sponsoring one of our church walkers or make a walker-in-spirit contribution.

If you have any additional questions please contact me at 704-516-2308 or at rtcushman@yahoo.com.

Thank you!
