Press Release – May 2018

2018 Marin CROP Hunger Walk Raised Over $15,000

The 21st Annual Marin CROP Hunger Walk, held on March 11, raised $15,278 in support of Church World Service, an international ecumenical aid organization.  Twenty-five percent of the funds will be divided between two local organizations:  St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Interfaith Street Chaplaincy.  The annual walk is sponsored locally by the Marin Interfaith Council and this year involved over 125 people from 15 congregations and organizations.

The Planning Committee wants to thank everyone who contributed, either by walking, or by donating to the Walk through the website (www.crophungerwalk.org/sanrafaelca).  Contributions from individuals and businesses made to MIC helped cover walk promotion and other expenses; those names appeared on the walk tee-shirt and can be found on the website.  The congregation which raised the most money this year, First Presbyterian Church of San Rafael, will keep the perpetual trophy for another year.

Together, we can help end hunger in our community and around the world!
