The event is celebrating its 50th Anniversary across the United States that started in 1969.  The first walk was held on October 17, 1969 in Bismark, ND and now over 1,600 walks are held annually.  The walk has been held in Kosciusko County since the early 1970's.

Monies collected will support Church World Services and 25% will stay in the area to fund items for Thanksgiving Baskets to families identified by Warsaw Community Schools.  St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Warsaw heads up the distribution of the baskets to families in need in cooperation with the Greater Warsaw Ministerial Association and area churches.
