Westerville CROP Hunger Walk Sunday, October 1

We're fighting hunger together!

St. Paul Lutheran Church

Our team is helping to end hunger one step at a time by participating in this year's Westerville CROP Hunger Walk. When CROP began in 1947, it was an acronym for Christian Rural Overseas Program. Its primary purpose was to help Midwestern farmers share their grain with hungry neighbors in post-World War II Europe and Asia. Today CROP Hunger Walks help support the overall work of Church World Service, particularly grassroots development efforts around the world to end hunger. 25% of the proceeds of the Westerville CROP Walk go to our local WARM Food Pantry for hunger-fighting programs locally here in Westerville.

U.S. food banks can distribute $10 worth of groceries for every $1 given to them, while $50 provides 150 meals in a food bank and $100 provides 222 pounds of food for families in need.

Please support us by making a donation ... and join us on the Walk! The 5k (3.1mile) route begins at the picnic shelter at Hoff Woods Park on Sunday, October 1, 2017. Registration and pre-walk activities begin at 1pm and the walk at 1:30pm. 5k is the average distance that people have to walk for clean water in developing countries.

Online secure donations until October 15 are encouraged and much appreciated! Checks may be made out to CWS/CROP and placed in Patti Barb or Candy Haugtvedt's church mailbox.
